TVN Warner Bros. Discovery announced that it is adding another major international entertainment format to its primetime lineup with a Polish adaptation of the global comedy phenomenon Taskmaster. The move follows the strong performance of The Floor and The Traitors, reinforcing the broadcaster’s strategy of investing in innovative, modern entertainment formats.

The Polish version of Taskmaster will premiere soon in TVN’s primetime schedule and will feature a cast of well-known comedians, comedy actors and entertainment personalities competing in unpredictable creative challenges designed to test imagination, wit and improvisation.

Created by comedian Alex Horne and produced and distributed by Avalon, Taskmaster has become one of the most successful unscripted comedy formats in the world. The show has been sold in more than 120 countries, produced in 14 local versions and commissioned for nearly 100 seasons globally. Its online ecosystem has also become a major driver of audience engagement, with the official YouTube channel generating over 14 billion views and more than 2 billion watch time hours.

The format blends studio entertainment with task-based challenges, where contestants attempt unusual and often absurd assignments such as extracting juice from an orange without touching it. Points are awarded by the Taskmaster, a central on-screen authority figure who evaluates performances with humour and unpredictability, alongside an assistant who oversees task execution and adds additional commentary.

TVN’s adaptation aims to connect linear television with the broader Taskmaster digital universe, which has developed into a global fan community across YouTube, TikTok and Reddit, where viewers actively discuss strategies, recreate tasks and engage with the format beyond broadcast.
