CEEEx-director of hit Ukrainian travel show killed in action
Vasyl Khomko, ex-director for the hit travel show Heads and Tails, has been killed in combat, his wife Halyna Spivak reported in an Instagram post.
“Son, brother, beloved husband, father, godfather, son-in-law, friend, colleague, brother-in-arms — today we all bow our heads in infinite sorrow to the sacrifice you made for the sake of our future, and pay tribute to you, Warrior,” wrote Halyna. Vasyl Khomko’s sister Aliona specified on Instagram that Vasyl had been killed in action while giving cover to his retreating group on October 2. She added that Vasyl volunteered to join the army in March 2022. He first served in the Mountain Assault Brigade No. 128 for 2.5 years and then in the Special Operations Forces for almost a year. According to her, Vasyl Khomko spent the entire 2021 preparing for the war, “realizing that it was going to become full-scale.” In another Instagram post, Halyna Spivak said that the funeral for Vasyl Khomko would take place on December 5. According to the Institute of Mass Information, Vasyl Khomko is the 120th media worker to die in the course of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. RELATED
