One of the most highly anticipated series of the new fall season is Lovers & Liars, the new Ay Yapim drama about a brilliant lawyer and a fearless con artist who join forces to hide a secret that could destroy them both. The series stars Hilal Altınbilek (My Wonderful Life, Bitterlands, Black Rose) and Burak Deniz (The Nightfall, The Trusted, Another Love) along with Tamer Levent (Chrysalis, Evermore, Brave and Beautiful), Perihan Savaş (Twisted Affairs, The Pit, Leaf Cast) and the International Emmy ® winner Haluk Bilginer (Our Father, Persona, Ezel). The primetime drama reunites writer Sema Ergenekon and director Ali Bilgin, who collaborated on the International Emmy ® winning series Family Secrets. Lovers & Liars premiered October 12 on NOW under the title Sahtekarlar which marked the best premiere of the new season until now.

Among the hottest new fall series MADD brings to Cannes is Envy, the new Ay Yapim drama airing Tuesday nights on NOW under the title Kıskanmak.

Envy is the powerful story of a woman who has finally had enough. Seniha spent her entire life on the margins of her own family — unloved by her status-obsessed mother and constantly overshadowed by her brilliant and charming brother Halit. While he becomes one of the country’s most successful attorneys and enjoys every privilege their wealth provides, Seniha is becoming an aging spinster, living like a servant in the very mansion where she was born. But when her brother’s secret relationship with a nightclub singer threatens the family’s reputation, Seniha finally seizes an opportunity by exposing her brother and arranging a respectable marriage for him. In exchange, her mother agrees to give Seniha the inheritance she was long denied.

When Halit humiliates her in front of their guests and her mother reneges on their agreement, Seniha’s years of buried anger and jealousy finally boil over.
