ICTV channel has taken off air the series Agent of National Security, starring Russian actor Mikhail Porechenkov who has become the subject of criminal investigation by the Ukrainian security forces.

The actor has allegedly taken part in firing against Ukrainain forces by terrorists in Donetsk. "ICTV strongly condemns the act of Porechenkov that is incompatible with human values and norms of behavior”, ICTV said in a statement. Last week a video was released showing Porechenkov visiting the airport in the city and firing a machine gun against Ukrainian forces.

The entire StarLightMedia which ICTV is part of announced that it will take off air all series and movies with his participation.


The Moscow Union of Journalists and a popular Moscow radio station also criticized the actor who had press insignia on.

"I, as the chairman of the Union of Journalists of Moscow, believe this is sad and a shame, when in one moment what we fought for years to protect journalists is destroyed," Pavel Gusev said in his statement.
