Court orders suspension of broadcast of 4 Russian TV channels in Ukraine
 26 Mar 2014
The Kyiv District Administrative Court has ordered suspension of the broadcasting of four Russian television channels in Ukraine during consideration of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council's lawsuit against one of the companies re-broadcasting these channels in Ukraine.

The National Security and Defense Council's Deputy Secretary Viktoria Siumar announced this at a news briefing.

‘Today, the Kyiv District Administrative Court issued a decision according to which the broadcasting of Russian TV channels in Ukraine should be suspended during consideration of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council's lawsuit against the company that is the main broadcaster of these channels,’ Siumar said.

Siumar did not name the company against which the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council filed the lawsuit.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council has filed a lawsuit with the District Administrative Court of Kyiv and requested a temporary ban on rebroadcast of four Russian television channels: Perviy Worldwide Network, RTR Planeta, Rossiya 24, and NTV Mir.
